I painted my kitchen olive green a few months ago and today I decided I wanted a red accent wall, so I painted it Roasted Tomato...I want it to match my pottery and rug that I purchased while we were stationed in Italy. My table is white tile top and my cabinets are a darker brown. Do you think these 2 colors work well with each other, and please dont tell me to get tan, taupe, beige...i cant stand brown.

You did a wonderful job with the colors of the walls and congrats on being bold enough to use them. Bello!

I'm with you on the no tan, taupe, beige colors. How incredibly boring.
I like the colors you chose, but I don't know if I like them on the walls together. I love the roasted tomato color, but I think the green is too dark and too seventies when placed side by side with the tomato. Of course this is my own opinion, but I would paint all the walls the roasted tomato color with the olive green as accent colors. You could even do something like gold on the ceiling. If you could see my kitchen then you would understand why I like it this way. I have raspberry red walls with a gold ceiling and olive accents. I love the colors in my kitchen and my husband actually admitted that he likes them too. However, I'm fully aware that someone else may not appreciate my taste. Anyhow, that is why my opinion really doesn't matter because if you love it then that is all that matters. I'm certain that if I were looking at it in person, I would have an entirely different opinion. I'm definitely not saying that you don't have good taste because you do. I really like the colors you chose. I'm just saying I'd put the colors together differently.

Yeah, actually, I do think they work together and should look really good with darker brown cabinets. However, a white table top and the natural finish on the table would seem to clash a bit with the darker wood (and bright white with the olive and tomato doesn't seem quite right either). I'd go for a cream if you want something more neutral and you hate brown, etc. (as a table top)--and maybe stain the table a darker brown to coordinate w/ the cabinets.

My personal opinion is that the colors here - http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa121/armywife_94e/Picture1374.jpg - are really too dark and they don't blend well.

This one - http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa121/armywife_94e/Picture1375.jpg - nice mat and table set.

Are you trying to paint the walls to match the rug? If so, why not use the background color from the rug for the walls and paint the trim to match the curtains?

Nica plates on your wall. :-)

I really like it. I don't know if you own this home, but it would look really good with some wood baseboard trim painted creamy white. Also, I can't tell if there is wood trim around the window, but that would look good too. May not be possible if this is a military house. The rug is very pretty, though.
