Chemisty is the action and reaction of substances.
Chemisty is Quantum Mechanics in action.
According to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chemistry
"Chemistry (from Egyptian kēme (chem), meaning "earth"[1]) is the science concerned with the composition, structure, and properties of matter, as well as the changes it undergoes during chemical reactions.[2] Chemistry is a physical science related to studies of various atoms, molecules, crystals and other aggregrates of matter whether in isolation or combination. It also incorporates energy and entropy related studies to various chemical substances."
All actions between molecules are explained by the theory of Quantum Mechanics which is the physics of the atomic and subatomic level.
Chemistry is simply put atoms of elements trying to fill their external orbits with a certain number of electrons. They do this by loaning or trying to grab electrons form other elements; creating a chemical bond.
Quantum Mechanics is to Chemistry and addition and subtraction are to algebra. While Quantum Mechanics is much more complex than standard chemistry it explains why certain chemical reactions happen using the period table of elements, which is the screwdriver of the world of chemistry; a very useful tool (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Periodic_table)
According to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_mechanics
"Quantum mechanics is a fundamental branch of physics with wide applications in both experimental and theoretical physics. The effects of quantum mechanics are typically not observable on macroscopic scales, but become evident at the atomic and subatomic level. Quantum theory generalizes all classical theories, including mechanics and electromagnetism, except general relativity, and provides accurate descriptions for many previously unexplained phenomena such as black body radiation and stable electron orbits."
