162 games are on the schedule, however, sometimes a game that is rained out isn't ever made up if it's not crucial to the standings and there have been other times where a one game playoff has been needed between teams that finish with the same record to determine which team advances to the playoffs. So in some instances a team may only play less than 162 or may play 163.

There are 162 games played in a whole season of baseball.
81 are at home, the other 81 being on the road.
A game in division standings counts for only a half. (2 games = 1 in standings)
If you count the playoffs, a maximum of around 25 games I believe can be played.

Anyway. The major league season is 162 scheduled games, AAA and AA level are 140 or so, and the lower levels play even shorter skeds.
