It varies it is generally 18 that means at 18 you can leave your parents home and do as you please legally ect for drink that is at 21.
Then there is one more loop hole most states in the US even though legally you are not an adult till 18 you can consent to sex at 16 with anyone 16 and older. So you are adult sexually but you are not allowed to free yourself. As for acutality there is no set age to be an adult I know 30 year old that are less mature and are not steady than some 15.

The legal definition is someone who is competent and capable of making their own decisions on matters of law, and capable of binding themselves to a contract or other legal agreement. It's also the point where people can be held fully accountable for their actions and the consequences of their choices.
In reality, just because the law says you're competent to make decisions about your actions, that doesn't mean a person actually knows what they are doing.

The legal age of becoming an adult, leagally, is 18... but you still can't drink or gamble until you're 21.
