Lessons find me.

I seek out teachers who can explain those lessons to me.

Otherwise, I only learn what I teach myself, and I could be wrong, not about the teacher, but; definitely about the lesson.

I constantly seek out the lessons I (in my opinion) need to learn. Unfortunately for my pride God disagrees with my opinion and teaches me lessons I really REALLY don't want to learn. Also I can be ridiculously obtuse at times and won't see a thing that's disgustingly obvious after I've learned the hard way. God practically has to slap me in the head to get me to learn what I need to learn. Fact is suffering and failure teach better than success and fun, and while I'm willing to do a little suffering to learn (like reading Gould's monstrosity of a book for example) I don't want to, say, go through a nasty illness or break a bone. And I really don't want to find out that I'm not as smart as I think I am, which is a pity because I'm not. And I don't believe it even though I'm saying it.

Seeking isn't finding, more's the pity.

We mostly don't know the lessons we need to learn, but in seeking out the lessons we think we need to learn we very often, if we're blessed, do run into the lesson we needed to learn.

Who Seek Out The Lessons That One Need To Learn untill it is forced upon to him whether it is School , or Life's School, some Master is needed to teach the lessons. No one seeks out own his own the lessons one need to learn..

How can a diseased cure himself.

A Doctor is need to treat..

It is easy to descend , but hard to climb..

On heights,Nature also makes descent easy no effort needed . but to climb one has to struggle.

And last .. if one knows that he has to seek a lesson, then he need not seek a lesson, he knows the lesson.. and one who does not seek a lesson assuming he knows will be FORCED UPON TO LEARN THE LESSON.

No, generally the lessons you need to learn slap you in the face. Very rarely do you learn the lessons before hand.

Yes, I often do. But, it is interesting - the lesson I believe I am searching is in fact a different lesson to be learned.

I hope I can express my "thought" clearly! (The heat wave is wearing me thin.)
I feel that I've "stumbled" on apparent lessons, & then I've sought out the reasons I stumbled in order not to do so again.
Also, always introspective, when I see patterns in my life that haven't been very constructive for me (or anyone) I do seek the "reasons" -- propensity for, motivation or lack of it, possible naivete, or whatever I can honestly define as the roots. In that sense, lessons find me, & I seek reasons & understanding of their messages. Or, I realize something hasn't been "working" & I explore it.
I can only hope I've made more sense to you than I have to myself, as far as articulating my answer!

Sometimes I find myself trying to smooth over some of my flaws by opening myself to other avenues of awareness.

Yet it always seems that the biggest lessons in my life I have had to learn whether I wanted to or not.

:o) Be Well!

It seems that the more "rough edges" you have, the faster you may attract the lessons you need, which smooth them out...

In a perfect world, you would be able to take them when you are ready for them, however, this created universe which we live in, has a crack in it, and it's far from perfect...

I seem to stumble upon them like an unsuspecting child stepping on a rattlesnake. But you can't tread carefully through life all the time, or you would learn nothing.
