Exodus 31:1-5 The LORD said to Moses, "I have chosen Bezalel, the son of Uri and grandson of Hur, from the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with my power. I have given him understanding, skill, and ability for every kind of artistic work--- for planning skillful designs and working them in gold, silver, and bronze; for cutting jewels to be set; for carving wood; and for every other kind of artistic work.
I am an artist, dear one. I also have taught.
All can be taught - and with dedication can become very good - yet there is a true difference between the dedicated student and the naturally talented child of God. There is a blessing on their work that sets them apart.
It is God given - as you see from Exodus... but it is a skill that can be learned. Just keep the joy of expression in your work and all endeavors will bear fruit.
Peace dear one!

To draw well, you need to have interest in drawing, you need lots of practice, proper instruction, and must also have the perception and left-brain abilities.
Drawing is one thing...becoming a great artist is another.
Many artists these days have very little talent, but what and how they draw attracts patrons, and they sell their stuff, even though it isn't that great.
If you are talking about drawing something EXACTLY what you see, yes, I believe many people have a talent for it, but a good instructor can get you far.
Really, once you get far into fine arts study, you learn to appreciate all art, not just those that are perfect likenesses of what they drew.
Looking at art is like listening to a poem. Some affects you personally. Some you don't care about. But it is the information that comes out of the artists head that goes onto the paper that makes art so fun to look at.

Well, this is a pointed question, but I'll try and give you an answer to it. After being an artist for 33 years, an illustrator and painter and sculptor, I think I can easily say,....uh.....well ....uh......I'm afriad it is,.....it has to be a "God given" talent and one that is attached to those among us who for whatever reason there might be,....."just dont seem to be like everyone else",......I have prayed time and again that I might be happy just to have a normal everyday job like everyone else around me and be able to sleep normal hours, and that I might be happy to just be satisfied with being "hem-haw" or so-so, blahsae or what have you,.......but NOOOOOOOOOO!, I had to be the one who was bestowed upon "this gift" I have for being able to discern apart photos and translate them into a paintings or drawings or whatever,.......and it's not that I'm unhappy being an artist, but I gotta tell ya,....."this is hard work",...to go into my studio, day after day, and paint for a particular market is just downright boring. "Not to throw darts at God" mind you, I love God and I believe strongly in him and in Jesus christ but I can tell you this much,......when I die,.....and If I get to see God?.............maybe have a conversation with him?.......we're gonna spend some time on the subject of "talent", I have some input here, "either that" or I'm a wind up toy!, I have been doing this for a very long time to be 48 years old, In fact I've been doing this in various forms since I was a teen-ager, something has to give!......I've been living paycheck to paycheck for 33 years,...I mean "c'mon man", geeeeeeesh! Yes people can learn to draw or paint or whatever, but they have to want to do it in order to learn and when you think about it, there's really no such thing as "teaching", a person either has the need or want to do something before they do it, other wise it's imposed upon them, even if it's only in thier heads!!!!!!!!!............Geeeeeesh now I feel better!.......good luck, get a part time job at least!&never trust a person who asserts that they are an "agent" or talent scout,......they are the devil incarnate....trust me on this one.
sincerely
R.Morris Patterson

Almost every one learned to draw when they were small children.
What level of perfection your seek might be another answer.
But yes I think all people can develop a certain proficiency with practice and a good teacher.
Do I think that there is a God given natural talent to draw things that look like the intended object.

Anyone can learn to draw well, but like any talent, there are many who are able to draw well with less effort. Like any talent, dedication will bring results. You won't be able to draw well within a few days or weeks, unless you're already talented at the things artists need to do to create pleasing art.

The debate of talent vs. teaching has been waged in the artistic world for many, many years.
Now, I COULD take the time to write a mini essay on this subject--but I won't. Linked below is the four year artistic journey of a member on a forum I visit. Look at how he began, on page one. Look at where his work is now, at page 57. He did all of that, with the advice and tutelage of many members of the forum, in FOUR YEARS.

Does that answer your question?
