Why do the women of WNBA look so manly????i mean yeah there in shape thats great but damn they all look like guys... you can be pretty AND play basketball cant u?

They look manly because they tend to bulk up. It is to sustain themselves from the rigorous challenges of the league. See if they let themselves skinny they would have a tough time posting up or powering themselves against bigger opponents.
It's just like Tennis. Look at the Venus Williams arms it's much bigger than an average man's arm. That's because she employs a power play kind of attack. Which is the same reason women in the WNBA do bulk up and look like men. Although I believe they do return to their womanly selves after every game.
It's just the call of the game. That is just the reason.

When you sweat for forty minutes in a contact sport, its hard to maintain appearances. You can't very well let your hair down and loose, how would you see the rim after spin move in the lane? I don't know of any base or foundation that can hold up for that amount of time with that amount of sweat. You would leave your lipstick on someones nice jersey.
Look at them out of uniform and in daily life. You wouldn't recognize them.

It's the same reason why most successful woman are not pretty. The ones who don't depend on their looks to be where they are I mean.

Their hair is tied back, they don't wear makeup, and those baggy uniforms don't show off their curves at all.
