Short of Manning, Palmer and Brees. He never failed over any decent stretch of time and when he's succeeded almost no one has been better. If he's close to 100% health who should he be a back up to?

well, this weekend, he looked pretty good, got his game on and all. I also like how he's smartened up and takes the slide now, to avoid injuries.

And compared to Mckown( or however yoou spell his name) he really looks good. The Raiders still have enough holes in the O-line that they need his type of mobility (which they won't get with Mr. "Im A Big Man and Can Take A Hit" Russell). Now that he is finally healthy we are seeing flashes of the guy who used to freak defenses out.

I have to admit, I did not know what to expect this season, because he did look horrible last season, but I should have realized that Miami can make anyone look horrible (and Saban is an Idiot). The injury probably didn't help either.

So I think no one in their right mind would bench him in favor of the dudes in Oakland.........But who EVER accused Al Davis of being in his right mind?

Considering the type of knee injury he had I would say all of the other 31 teams. Keep in mind this is not the Culpepper who tossed 30+ TD's a few years ago. He is not as mobile and his arm strength has dropped off. McCown has looked at least as good as Culpepper stat wise this preseason and has played against the starting "D" of other teams. I feel bad for the guy considering how great he was but I doubt he will ever be a top tier guy in the likes of Manning, Palmer or Brees again. Especially in Oakland with a pretty awful line protecting him.

Both QBs looked good this preseason agianst first string D but that was with a limited playbook. The only reason they are even thinking of McCown (however you spell it) over Culpepper is that McCown has had more practice with the new offense they are putting in. Although if they do put Culpepper as a backup i see him starting week 3 at the latest...he just looks too good this preseason to leave on the bench any longer than you have to once he gets the playbook down.

Its amazing how quickly people forget how good players are. One off year or a major injury and they're just forgotten. People have already written off Edge too, and McNabb as you've seen. These are all good players. I've been keeping an eye on Daunte since he got to Oakland and I'm thinking between him and LaMont ( another guy everyone forgot) Jordan they could have a decent offense to go with that up and coming D. I think ADD is just rampant in NFL fans. I saw an answer to a question today where someone was comparing Jarmarcus to McNabb - But like it was an insult to Jarmarcus. I don't get it.

You seem to forget his last two years in Minnesota. They were hardly what you'd call productive by any stretch. With the severity of the knee injures he's had, he's lost the one attribute (his mobility) that made him a dangerous QB for a short time.

Mr. Cowboy are you for real? When those guys are on there are very few guys in the league better.

I hope you aren't a dallas fan with Romo the fumbler down there. Want to talk about a usless qb. He folded down the stretch and damn near cost me a fantasy championship.

I agree.
When he was with MN he and Randy Moss were a pretty good duo.
But he han't had the help around him and he was injured.
I wouldnt want to draft him as my starting QB though...

I was wondering who in there right mind would want him at all being an old washed up injury prone fluke just like mcnabb. They are the two most useless qb in the league....besides ben
