For example:
1.45 * 10^0 = 1.45
and
1.45 * 10^3 = 1450.

Just need to make sure im doing my chemistry homework correct. (Significant numbers)

Yep anything to the power of 0 would be 1 which means it is the same number you started with. I learned this just yesterday. So it is still in my head.

Incorrect. The question that is! 10^0 is equal to 1 (as with any number raised to the "zero"), that is why you get the same number 1.45*10^0 = 1.45*1 = 1.45
