Second hand smoke is actually worse than smoking the thing yourself - and not just for the birth control pills! It can cause you to get cancer and all the other thing a smoker can get only at a higher level.
My husband's mother smoked and his father got lung cancer. The doctor told them it was from her smoking. He never smoked a day in his life and died from cancer that his wife gave him.

It can effect you, but not ever woman is effected by cigarette smoke while on the pill. It's more dangerous if you are over the age of 35. I smoke and I take the pill, and so far, luckily I haven't had any problems in the past two years.
Either way, it is safest to not smoke or be around smoke if you're that paranoid about getting blood clots, or as I said before, if you're over 35.

You Bet it will affect you. Second hand smoke can kill you.
It will probably shorten your Life-Span if nothing else. Plus
you will have all kinds of breathing problems.
There is no Safe smoke. Get your hubby to stop now. Before you have kids.

Second hand smoke is dangerous to be around routinely, not occasionally. And you are right regarding smoking and OCP's (BCP). There is a heightened risk of Blood Clots. Anyways, good luck!

second hand smoke can indeed affect you, increase your risk of blood clot, not to mention lung cancer.....if your hubby insists on smoking, refuse to be anywhere near him while he does.
