Wired id much superior.

Your wireless is not setup properly.

You are out of range for your wireless router. (computer is too far away from the wireless router)

Too much steel, concrete, etc between your computer and the wireless router.

Too many on the wireless Node.

Most consumer wireless routers can service up to 3 simultaneous wireless connections.

Each computer more than 1 will slow the wireless connection.

Other Electronic devices interfering with your signal (TV remotes, Cell phones, Other wireless phones, your wireless router is too close to an electrical device, your computer's wireless card is too close to an electrical device, etc)

Good Luck.

I assume that you have a wireless router and that its not encrypted. Are you within range of the router? Try sitting within a few feet of it and see if you can connect. If you don't have a wireless router or a wireless access point connected to a wired router, you can't connect.

Did AT&T provide you with a wireless router? If so you need to ensure that it can connect to the services first. If that is all set up and you still have the problem you may need to check the security settings such as WEP or MAC Address filtering.

It's probably a signal issue. Try locating closer to the wireless router. If that helps than what you'll need is an amplifier or to be closer.

Did you forget to enter your PPPoE username and password on the wireless router configuration?
