You already knew the answer Hanna - and so do the people above. That amendment was LONG overdue in this man's opinion. The delay in allowing women to vote has throughout history been a disgrace to men virtually everywhere. In France, the birthplace of Liberty, women could not vote until the end pf World War Two!

The 19th Amendment gave women the right to vote. It was lobbied for mostly by Prohibitionists and by big government advocates.

Women's Suffrage was actually opposed by the supporters of limited government and by Prohibition opponents because their women didn't want to vote (for example, the German-American organizations were against allowing women to vote as was President Cleveland out of justified concern that letting women vote would mean big government).

There have been polls done to determine people's political beliefs and these polls tend to confirm that men generally support "negative" freedom (meaning the right not to be aggressed against) and women support "positive" freedom (meaning the right to a specific goal, such as a "living wage," healthcare, or education). This shows that the opponents of Women's Suffrage were absolutely correct about what it would lead to (of course it was passed in large part because of rampant racism against German-Americans during most of the 20th century; many German-American families actually changed their last names so that they could avoid bigotry during the eras of World War I and World War II and afterward).
