not really. unless you're talking about solitaire.

when you load it using bootcamp, you're using an emulator. emulator tries to mimic a system using the current system's resources. generally, the system runs a LOT slower.

so as far as gaming is concerned, MAC is not the way to go.

I don't know the results for XP, but I know test results have shown that Vista runs better and faster on a Mac with BootCamp then on many PCs. So I would assume the games would play OK. You would partition the hard drive and run Windows on say 1/2 and Mac on the other. When you start the computer up, you decide which you want to run. With BootCamp you are not emulating anything, you are turning the Mac into a Windows computer, well part of it.

First off, ignore the first three answers since they have no clue what they are talking about, Bootcamp allows Windows (and thereby DirectX) to run on a Mac. Bootcamp is NOT an emulator, so no performance degrading from that.

Now the main thing that determines gaming quality is the video card, and the iMac is only average in that area. It currently comes with either the HD2400XT or HD2600 Pro. Neither are particularly great for gaming, so don't expect good performance on really new games, but older games should play decently.

yes a mac could run games, your OS is everything, it has the device drivers, the communication to the BIOS, Everything Xp preinstalled,. only issue is, MAC is a Nazi when it comes to their Hardware. they don't expect their users to be gaming so they only sell 2 gigs of ram and little bit of HD space and weak suck CPU's. as long as you don't get Vista, and play games within your machine's statistics you'll be fine. My friend plays 2142 which is a pretty high run game.

No, because most games are designed for Windows PCs. Not Macs.
Even though they work, you won't get the most gaming experience out of it.
Reason Most games need Direct X 9.0 I don't think that its compatible with mac specifications.
