I'm going to go with Calvin Johnson on this one.
It's a given that Brady Quinn and Jamarcus Russell (whenever he signs) will struggle in their 1st year. 90% of the QB's in the NFL struggle when they're thrown to the wolves in their 1st season...so I reserve the right to revisit this in 2 or 3 yrs.
However, Calvin Johnson is playing on Lions team that has drafted 4...count 'em...4 WR's in the last 4 drafts, and all of them were supposed to be the savior....the offensive weapon that turns this franchise around. So far, only Roy Williams is living up to that promise, but let's not forget the fact that NONE of their 1st round picks lead the team in receptions last year. Johnson has athletic ability, but that doesn't always guarantee success in the NFL.

Although I would have to agree with everyone else and go with Jamarcus Russell, I also have to say Calvin Johnson. I mean the guy hasnt even taken an NFL snap yet (in a regular season game) and everyone (almost everyone) on Yahoo! Answers is putting this guy in the Pro Bowl!!! We'll see after the season or during the season if he holds up to the hype!

Jamarcus Russell of the Raiders, I am a Raiders Fan and I wish they can get rid of this greedy "ROOKIE" . I cant believe that he wont sign with the Raiders because he is not getting enougn money. I would give anything to play in the NFL!!!!!

"Dare I say most every QB is over hyped around draft day. "
Not Tom Brady at 199 or Peyton Manning at 1 or Dan Marino at 20-something.
I think Jamarcus Russel is making his case loud and clear, although I'd have to say he isn't really hyped all that much, he was just a #1 pick and that's it. Calvin Johnson has been referred to as an instant "hall of famer" and turning around the Lions franchise singlehandedly, I imagine that giberrish makes him way too hyped.

Well the obvious answer is Jamarcus Russel. But he is not even in the NFL yet. So I will say Calvin Johnson. Another good receiver drafted to a team that kills young receivers.

Russell w/o a doubt. The guy wasn't worthy of a top 10 pick IMO. And to the Cowboy above me, good call on Bush and Young. No one has the stones to speak the truth on these guys. Both are grossly overrated.
