The money found in Jefferson's Freezer was part of an FBI Sting payout. There is no doubt that the money was part of a $100,000 payment that had been delivered by an informant in the bribery probe, which already has led to guilty pleas by a Kentucky businessman and a former Jefferson aide.

So what is being said is that a person under charges for corruption should be allowed continue to serve in the Senate or House voting on laws that affect all the citizens of the US? Its not just about the people in New Orleans it about not accepting a corrupt official to make laws for the country.

Yes. I am disappointed that Pelosi hasn't made a personal request to the Federal court in Lousiana to get Jefferson's case fast-tracked so that he will be convicted and easily thrown out of Congress.

As it stands right now, Jefferson won easy re-election in his district regardless that the money was found before the election. His constituents have the final say as to whom they will vote for to put in Congress.

A large majority of Craig's constituents want him to step down, so keep that in mind.

Senator Craig pleaded guilty and then recanted. He may not have actually had sex, though it should be more than obvious to anyone who reads the police report that he was definitely soliciting sex. The reason he would be asked to resign before his trial and sentencing involves being real about his chances of being re-elected and losing a seat in an important election.
Jefferson has been charged but has not yet been tried. When Jefferson was first charged his Democratic colleagues stripped him of his committee assignments. If he is convicted, that will be the appropriate time to talk about expulsion or giving him another chance. If he is convicted I'd put my money on the former.
Clinton admitted his mistake and apologized. Some people have forgiven him others still hold a resentment.
Vick has plead guilty. He is suffering the consequences.

Doesn't everybody keep large sums of money in their freezer? Seems cool to me! (Sorry, that was bad) I don't know if Jefferson did anything wrong to get the money. As for Craig, anybody who has the choice between innocent and guilty, and pleads "guilty" probably did it.

Yes I do.
The important facts are-
Craig plead guilty, While Jefferson has only been accused.
I believe Jefferson is guilty, but he entitled to the same "Day in court" that Sen Craig had.

Denying Jefferson legal due process that was extended to Craig is hypocritical.

EDIT:

Craig does not need to be convicted, he has already plead guilty.

The Republican Senator Craig has been a champion fighting against the "homosexual agenda" and opposing gay rights. He was found in the public restroom of a major airport engaged in homosexual activity. HYPOCRISY!

Actually, it's not about hypocrisy at all.

Democrats haven't spent any time talking about family values and morality. They don't have any such standards to live up to, so there's nothing at all hypocritical about their reverence for degenerates who have sex with minors with whom they stand "in loco parentis". They aren't being hypocritical taking bribes, I've never heard any of them say that bribery is wrong.

I'm not downplaying what Craig is accused of, nor trying to make Democrats out to be morally superior in any way.

Hypocrites they are not.

Senator Craig was convicted, Jefferson has not been convicted. If and when he is, he'll be gone too.

I think you just answered the question yourself.
Same with Jesse Jackson (doesn't matter that
he's a preacher). How about Clinton? People
still want him back in the White House (even if
she's # 1).
