That would be a fair assesment. This man's life was ruined by the government and the incompetence of the FBI. They don't always "get thier man". Think of Ruby Ridge and Waco.

There's no evidence that he was murdered by anyone, but I'll be interested to read the autopsy results. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution screwed a genuine hero. All the FBI did was its job of investigating every lead. I noticed that even the Associated Press was going with the headline "Former Olympic bomb suspect Jewell dies" instead of "Olympic bomb hero Jewell dies." How sad.

He died of kidney failure. He had been sick a while.

I don't think the FBI killed him, but they sure screwed him. It was actually the Media that screwed him mkore than anyone. It's the FBIs job to check out any and all leads.

The Media crucified this poor bastard before he was ever declaed a suspect of any kind. FBI were just investigating everyone and some sleeze news whore decided he was good story. This man's life and that of his mother were ruined. He was just a simple jerk who did the right thing and got humiliated. Rest in peace buddy.

First a bit of education for our younger readers & miss S.C.......
Mr. Jewel was a Security Guard at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. He was wrongly made a suspsect in the bombing at the Olympic park. Eric Rudloph was later found to be the guilty man after some 10+ years on the run.

To answer your question? They screwed him for sure. Killed? No.... How did die by the way?

Give me a break. Those olympics were over 10 years ago. Get over it. He should have gotten over it. Did anybody notice he was about 10 pounds lighter than a baby whale? I don't think he ever took a flight of stairs in his life. Obesity is a health problem not the FBI.

Don't get me wrong, the FBI is a bunch of lying, incompetent, decietful, sneaky, back stabbing good ole boys with guns. They couldn't track their own bowel movements much less their weapons and computers. But let's put blame where blame goes.

Waco was ATF and U.S. Marshalls brainiak.

YES and the US mainstream media will never investigate this. The FBI has harassed amany Americans and will never admit this.

I think there's something to what you're saying, but I note that they were a lot less efficient about it than they were with Randy Weaver's family or the Branch Davidians.

Why? I don't see how it would serve anyone's purpose to kill him.

It was probably suicide, or a heart attack.
We'll find out sometime in the next two days with the autopsy report.... 6 weeks with the tox screen.

EDIT: I was right; heart attack/kidney failure.

I haven't seen the details of this one yet, but the stress of being wrongly accused of a heinous crime, as he was, would prematurely age anyone and damage their health. How sad.
