Is there anything like a defrag for an iMAC? Was wondering if there was some routine maintenance that i should do to keep the computer running at its best.

yes there is, it's called diskwarrior

macs dont fragment like pcs do, but they do need regular directory rebuilds, i.e diskwwarrior

The filesystem on most *nix systems do not fragment. Therefore, you do not need to defrag an iMAC (the ones with OS X at least).
