I just found out I have a UTI. I'm 11 weeks pregnant. The dr. is calling me in some antibiotics. I dont' have any blood in my urine. I do have some lower abdominal pain and have had frequent urniation (waking up many times during the night) but I thought that just came along with pregnancy. Have any of you had a UTI while pregnant? Please share your experience.

Run to the drugstore and get AZO, they are cranberry concentrate pills. Completly safe and natural. They will relieve the symptoms while you are waiting for the antibiotics to kick in.

I've had a UTI and kidney infection for 20 weeks now. I'm 24 weeks pregnant. I am seeing a urologist once a month and being monitored because it can cause preterm labor. I take antibiotics daily. UTI isn't that serious IF you treat it right away. Make sure you take all of your antibiotics *exactly* as prescribed. If you are still having pain once you finish them go back to the doctor ASAP. The antibiotics they can give you during pregnancy might not kill the bacteria, which is why I've had these issues. Just don't get too worried about this, but definitely don't take it lightly. Take your meds as prescribed and you'll almost certainly be fine. Good luck!

Yes, I just got over a UTI last week. It was miserable: frequent urination, a burning sensation, a general uncomfortableness. I was prescribed amoxicillan (sp?) (a very common antibiotic), and baby is fine. I felt relief after taking the second dose of the med.

whe i went to my first ob apt. they found out that i had a bladder infection. i cant take amoxicillan so they gave me cephlex and after 2x a day for 7 days it came back a week later. after that they gave me another round of cephlex 4x a day for 7 or 10 days a vaginal cream kinda like monistat and since i have had a kidney infection a year ago and get utis kinda regularly a nother pill to take everynight for the rest of my pregnancy. it totally fine just make sure u take all ur meds cuz u dont want it to become a kidney infection cuz thats really bad. u prob wont need as much as me cuz amoxicillan is the best for it and it shouldnt come back.

It hurt!! But cranberry juice will help! I was use to the discomfort because I get UTIs so frequently. Start on the cranberry juice right now though I swear it will help so much in just a few hours! Good Luck!

UTI's are very common, and the antibiotics your dr gave you are safe for the baby. Take them. Get the infection gone now, before it gets any worse. Good luck.

Yes, i had one at about 13 weeks. She prescribed me some Triconazole or something like that it was a 7 day treatment that you filled the applicator tube with medicine and inserted it before bed time and by the 7th day of treatment, all symptoms were gone. Don't worry, they are very normal in pregnancy... don't worry and good luck! :)

drink lots and lots and lots of cranberry juice, not from concentrate if you can find some. i find that it clears up a uti faster than antibiotics. any time you feel that "uti tingle" immediately start drinking cranberry juice it has worked for me every single time.
