I'm 27 weeks pregnant, and my husband and I are going to a friend's wedding in a few weeks. Where can I buy a nice evening dress that I can wear to the event, but one that won't cost too much. I love the dresses at Pea in the Pod, but there is no way that I am paying $250 for a dress that I'll likely never wear again!

How formal is the wedding? I purchased a nice dress from Mimi maternity/Motherhood, it was on sale and $60 I think. Also there is a store called Forever 21, its online as well. The clothes are really inexpensive, and they have some dresses that are that style, they are not maternity, but that style is in. Oh, Old Navy has a similar dress in solid black cotton right now. That is cute! I found a yellow dress with a wide sash for the waist at Motherhood that I wore to a wedding last month. I found it on the sale rack for $25 and I love it! Good luck!

i was 24 weeks when i had to attend a wedding in may, i bought an ordinary dress, one size up, with an empire line and gathered under the bust, everyone thought i looked great and couldnt believe i found such a nice maternity dress! if only they knew the truth!

I think a simple black dress with elegant accessories could look wonderful. The dress you are looking at is beautiful, but way too expensive. Think of accessories that you might already have- cute shoes, handbag, scarf, necklace etc and then find a simple dress to accent it.

Go on amazon and search maternity. That way you get to see the whole range of stores. Then if you see one for a store you like, see if you can track down a coupon code/free shipping and see what you can find.
Also I think Ann Taylor or Loft sells maternity now. They always have coupons.

A while back I bought a black dress from Motherhood Maternity for $40 and wore it to my brother's wedding. You should check there.

chheck e-bay, lots of women buy these overpriced dresses and wear them once.
at 27-30 weeks your bump may not be too big to get away with an empire style dress from the womens dept as well.
