I have to say the NBA. The controversies in the NFL and MLB were pretty bad, but at this point, we all pretty much expect baseball players to take steroids and for football players to commit crimes. Its been this way for a while now and no one should be surprised anymore. Refs getting in trouble for gambling, now that a differant story, especially when that ref officiated playoff games. That is a major blow to the credibility of the NBA. Now that Vegas has started building an arena and stated that they intend on it housing either a major basketball or hockey team, this will be a major issue if the NBA wants to expand to that city.

I think football has. There are more and more things in the news every season with football athletes. Its kinda amazing its still a sport. I like football too but to see what these people are doing with their time and money is sickening. They need to toughen up on the players and make it to where they cant really get away with anything. That might straighten it up a little bit.. for a little while atleast until all the press and stuff goes down

It's a tie between MLB and NBA for most heat. I don't include NFL because they just had players acting like idiots on their own time and were punished accordingly by Roger Goodell.
As for credibility, I would have to say the NBA lost the most credibility. Partly because of Tim Donaghy, but it was mostly because MLB barely had any to begin with.

barry bonds taking steroids to break the home record may seem bad but was he really the only one in history to do it?
the referee incident in basketball is just another example why you never gamble on sports games because there is someone out there controlling the event.
michael vick's dog fighting incident has got the be the worst especially the way dogs were killed even after they lost the fight or did not fight. what a brutal man!!

Dogfighting is really scraping bottom. The average person can understand that athletes might be tempted to look to drugs for an edge. The average person can understand the greed that might lead a referee into temptation. The average person can understand that Benoit was a seriously disturbed man behind his healthy facade. Dogfighting on the other hand....most people can't relate. Vick could afford any hobby he wanted, why did it have to be dogfighting?

If you put this in the general sports category, you'll get a lot more answers; some of them even unbiased as well. And hockey didn't escape it either with the Staals getting arrested for under age drinking and obstruction of police officer. But, hey, who hasn't done those things? lol
Personally, I'd say the NFL took the most heat. Even before and after Vick, there'd be somebody being charged with something.

i think basketball and football have lost its credibility. the NBA suffers with so much corruption like the tim donaghy scandal which really messed things up for the commish...also there are litttle things going on here an there with ron artest oh and rafer alston supposedly stabbed some one too...so ya the NBA is in a lil trouble right now...the NFL suffered because of the michael vick incident..

I think it's a toss up between the NBA and the NFL right now. Seems we can't go more than a couple days without one or the other hitting the headlines again because of the conduct of their players and officials.
One more reason to get kids into hockey. They won't end up being a horses behind or a doped up freak.

From when all those sports/activities started to now, I'd have to say Cycling has become the worst. At this current moment I'd say Football is one of the most crime involved sport, meaning that Football players run into the law most often.
