I honestly don't mean this to be rude, but it sounds like a feminine hygiene product or possibly the stage name of an adult entertainer. If you like Summer and Brooke, I'd use one or the other. It's just very difficult to combine two word names without it coming across as, well, a bit cheesy. Sorry! :(
A double name is often a lovely choice, and can help a child stand out from others that might share one of the names (for example, if there are three other Marys -- or whatever other name -- in her classroom, she could go by Mary Claire). But hyphenation definitely cheapens the feel. It's completely unnecessary, and can even be problematic (not all government, school, etc. forms allow punctuation within a name). If you're worried the second name will be inevitably dropped, just make sure you place "Mary Claire" in the first name slot on the birth certificate and "Amelia" in the middle name position (again, just tossing names out there LOL). That would make the first two names her official "first name," no hyphen required. ;)
Good luck!

Now that I've heard the subdivision argument, I have to say that I agree. I prefer Brooke to Summer, but if you really want Summer Brooke, do it without the hyphen so she has the option of using both or not. Otherwise legal documents will all be under both.

I don't think Summer-Brooke works as a hyphenated. As two names it is cute.

Hyphens are over-rated, she won't go by the full name guaranteed unless she's in trouble. But your kid, your choice.
Also, Summer-Brooke sounds quite hippie.

Sounds like a hippie name, or something on the WB network. I'd stick with one nature derived name per child.
