i know he attempted to commit suicide the other night...but just about 5 minutes ago on the news they were talking about him in the past tense as though he died.
anyone know?

(CBS) “Wedding Crashers” star Owen Wilson was hospitalized Sunday, according to sources on the Web and TV.
TMZ.com confirmed that Wilson, 38, had been taken to the hospital but didn’t say why. TMZ published a statement from the Santa Monica Police Department: “On Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at 12:10 p.m., officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to a medical assistance call from the Santa Monica Fire Department at the 900 block of 23rd Street. The person was transported to a local hospital where they are being treated.”
According to “Entertainment Tonight,” Wilson was later brought to the Beverly Hills’ Cedars-Sinai Hospital where he detoxed. Anonymous sources said Wilson suffered from dehydration. The show also reported that brother Luke Wilson was spotted leaving Cedars-Sinai on Sunday night with their brother, Andrew. People magazine said Owen’s parents also visited.
Wilson, who recently broke up with actress Kate Hudson, was nominated for an Oscar for “The Royal Tenebaums” screenplay. He has starred in many box-office blockbusters such as “Zoolander” with Ben Stiller and the thriller “Behind Enemy Lines” with Gene Hackman.
Most recently, he starred in “Night at the Museum,” with Stiller and is slated to star in the film adaptation of the book “Marley and Me.”

Not a word on the TV news this morning, nor the internet news. He's still under care, and asked that his privacy to heal
should be respected during 'this trying time'.
They mentioned he's had a drug addiction in the past, and
that was hinted as a possible reason for being out of balance
right now. Also the stress from three movies in the making.
He's spread himself too thin with all of the work and the
disappointment of his breaking up with Kate Hudson. They
quoted her saying she just couldn't live with his addiction and
had to be away from him so she wouldn't see that anymore.
So apparently he's never gotten over that from years ago.

no - Owen Wilson was rushed to St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, by ambulance after an attempted suicide at his Santa Monica home. Wilson was discovered in his bathroom, bloody and dazed after slitting his wrists and overdosing on pills, by younger brother Luke .

I dont think so ... I know last night , they went back a few times on Enertainment Tonight to look how he responded to some question from the past and how he may have been on something then, and was not really noticed..... But .. Gosh I hope Not!!!

He's still alive to my knowledge, I haven't seen or heard anything about him dying.
It's ashame that its all over the news but when people are celebrities, I guess there nothing you can do but go on with life and hope the media eventually gets bored with the story.

No, he didn't. I was so shocked when I heard that he attempted suicide! From the way he holds himself on tv he seems like such a carefree and funloving guy, but I guess that's just how he wanted people to think... But, no, thank goodness, he's alive.

don't think so. but i heard that too.
but i think that's very sad. my life is so much worse i ought to be inclined to suicide....... how does someone who has nearly everything be THAT discouraged? But it's a truth that no matter what station of life you're in, we all have struggles.
Actors are just people with problems like everyone else. It's sad though, but no, i don't think he died.

No he isnt dead. Just like you said he attempted suicide...but as of right now he is still alive.
