if you don't agree with the artists beleifs, which show in the lyrics of his really popular song. You like the tune and the fact that the song had good intentions, BUT you don't like how the lyrics where suppose to be taken; but you can munipulate the song's lyrics to something that totally make sense and mean something to you.

It is never stupid to like a song...music is all an opinion...and what one person hates another loves...if you like, then like and don't ley any one tell you differnt..If you lead people will follow..if you follow then your just sheep...

No,because despite things you don't like about it,you can't take that to heart, the artist is not what you listen to it for (most of the time)is the song in general and it's lyrics.I agree with christy007_holmes I don't like the song "Umbrella" by Rihanna,I don't want to sound harsh but to me her version doesn't really get the message across, whereas the Scott Simons version the lyrics are deeper and to me become more thoughtful.

So basically lol if you can't turn it around and listen to it in a different way then it' other 'meaning' should have lesser effect.

No. If you like the music listen to it but don't take the lyrics seriously. At the same time respect the artist for showing their beliefs in their music instead of just whining about how they cant find a ***** to smack up.

Yeah, you can like that song. Do you have any friends that have different opinions than you? If so, it's the exact same thing. You don't have to agree with every song you like 100%, just like you probably don't agree with most people 100%. If you find the song offensive, and it bothers you to listen to, it probably isn't really worth listening to.

No, I don't think it's stupid. There are a bunch of songs where I only like the rhythm and beat, but not the lyrics and vice versa.
