find the least common denominator.
-4/5 + -3/4
becomes
-16/20 -(15/20)
then add
-16 -15 =-31
-31/20
simplify
- 1 (11/20)
iput it in parenthesis so you cansee the fraction part of the mixed fraction do not multiply

that would be: -31/20 or -1 & 11/20
