We used to pop geodes all the time when we were kids. Most of them were nothing to write home about, but when you did find a good one, it was like opening a whole miniature world. I think the anticipation is half the fun. Sorry you got disappointed this time.

I come from "geode country" near the Petrified Forest in AZ. I have opened quite a few in my time sometimes you get a really great one and sometimes you get a dud.
So sorry you got a dud! Try again the next one may be a real prize!

The ones that I bought to break open myself were all a disappointment, but they are quite amazing if you buy one already broken open. They tend to be bigger too.

I've opened up three before. It has always had amethyst and the pretty milky shell. I'm sorry yours didn't have anything in it.

Only a few milky-blue colored crystals were in the one that I opened.

Get the ones with crystals visible on the outside, : )
