Since you are not even forty weeks yet (full term) looks like baby wants to wait a little longer. Try walking, go to the Mall or somewhere you won't get to hot. But don't be surprised if all you get is some exercise. Good luck and congratulations!

you don't always dialate and efface at the same time. just wait it out. your body just isn't ready, it'll happen in it's own time. i think i would rather not know all of that myself... i mean how thin or thick my cervix is etc. it would make it all more nerve wracking. i'd just as soon let it happen when it happens and not wrack my brain when any little thing happens with my body you know??

good luck!

You're not even yet due! Patience, patience - I know it's tough, but your body will start dilation when it's ready, possibly not for another month. Or you could go from zero dilation to ten cm in two hours tonight.

Relax, take warm bubble baths, get a friend to paint your toenails. If you're bored and need to be busy, tackle something like stocking up on food in your freezer or clearing out your storage room.

Well your not full term yet. I suggest waiting it out. Your doctor won't let you go past 42 weeks so the max time you have left is one month. So just take each day easy and the baby will be here before you know it!

ya know it really pisses me off when EVERYONE answers with "you're not ready" "it's not time" "the baby will come when it's ready" f all of that.
ok, have sex, make sure he cums inside (the sperm helps the cervix) and if you have an orgasm that'll help give you some contractions. there's nipple stimulation, but you MUST becareful you don't over do it cuz that can cause problems, google it before you try. also castor oil. DO NOT take more than 2tbs, or you will be shitting your brains out. again research that one before you try it. at your next dr's appt. ask them to sweep your membranes but they have to do it slow and really do a good job or it wont work. goodluck!

try and walk as much as you can. if you feel up sex then that may help too. i've been using evening primrose oil and it has made a big difference in my cervix according to my doctor. you could try using that. its fairly cheap and can be found at just about any local drug store. i bought mine at walgreens for about 9 dollars. it comes in the form of a gel-cap and if you insert 2 of them into the vagina at bedtime then that should help get things started anyway. you want to put them as high up in there as you can get them and make sure you lay down after you put them in so they can melt on the cervix. it most likely won't start your labor, but it will help move things along. good luck to you!

I cant believe this crap.

'dialated' and 'dialating' are not words.

You cant make yourself DILATE. It will happen on its own. Why the rush anyway?
