We ask these silly questions about craig or alberto, or about conservative this or liberal that,

or about bush this or clinton that,

we don't ask each other the questions that matter enough here on yahoo answers

How many children in America didn't eat a lunch today?

I don't have the answers to these questions,

these aren't rhetorical.

I don't care if you are republican or democrat,

we want our troops home, when the time is right.
We want our fellow American fed and sheltered, we might disagree on how to best achieve that goal.

We may disagree on the solution, but at least we need to know there is a problem.

You are 100 % right. There are a lot of problems associated with New Orleans relative to the storm damage and reconstruction. But my question is if the Feds have pumped around 118 BILLION into rectifying the situation there should be a whole lot of improvements that should be evident. Thats a hugh chunk of our change no matter where you live. I just haven't seen the same amount of criticism lowered on the state of Louisiana by the same naysayers that complain little is being done. I would have to say they have a greater responsibility to their citizens. Everyone seems to forget that the Governator of Louisiana, in a recorded conversation, initially rejected Federal help simply because that would involve Bush and the governor was a democrat. These are the types of things we must get around in order to make any progress at all. Partisan bickering on both sides of the aisle serves no one most importantly the American people. I have no doubt that if the situations were reversed with the Dems in the White House the Republicans would be taking all sorts of shots at them over Iraq. Those folks on the hill better figure out that we are all our brothers keeper and what effects one effects us all. We are in this together. They better roll up their sleeves and fight the good fight or we all may be big loosers in this silly game of partisanship.

There are and always will be 'problems'.

The problems today are unquestionably less than they have ever been.

Are YOU willing to admit that?

There is no reason for anyone to be homeless in New Orleans. There never have been more resources to prevent that in one place in our history. $114 Billion. That's more money than they need. With that in mind, if you doubled the figure, nothing would change and you would still be asking this question.
What else do you want?

You have some good questions. As for the children and lunch: Since school has started I would think that most if not all school age kids will have a good lunch. There are programs called free and reduced lunches that provide either free or reduced prices for school lunches. So kids are fed. Also most schools provide breakfast too.

Unfortunately we live in a society where the poor have no voice, I will get a lot of thumbs down for saying its the government and medias fault but hell it is...

Government spending is out of control and its going towards big business and military. Lets blow up a bridge and then rebuild it theory needs to end and spending be spent in American.

there're way to many unsolved problems in America. YET, US gets involve in an unwanted war for most wrong reasons, while internal problems pilling up and frustrations are beyond words.

$4 trillion in deficit and still rising, the expenses and price of this stupid nonsense war. While New Orleans is unfinished and people are still struggling!! This is just ridiculous!

You probably won't get many responses. This is a serious question and the trolls can't just blame each other on this one. The media is complicit in this one. How many times do you hear about Brittany, Paris, Madonna, Ect....hours of coverage of meaningless celebrity crap, that the American people eat up, hand over fist, yet nary a story about the real issues. Some of which you mentioned in your post. No, it's, American Idol is on tonight, I have to race home and eat my chocolate cake and watch it. I hope blah blah wins..... Sickening really. Until the issues are addressed and discussed, the only homeless person you will see, won't be on TV, it will be the guy you see people stepping over with callous disregard on their busy way somewhere.

Our national morality is a reflection of our leadership. The American people don't care about those questions because we are taught not to.

What is the problem?
There are churches and charities and shelters and more programs to help feed clothe and shelter children.
If someone is living in squalor in this country it is because they choose to.

Nobody disagrees with the problems, just how best to solve them. I guess I'm unclear as to your point, republican and democrat might just be labels, but they represent two very differing ideologies.
