I wouldn't mind if he was a third string backup and if he got his mind right while he was in jail.

It all comes down to which team you are general manager for. If you are managing a team that has a proven QB then of course you are quick to say no I would never take Vick b/c of his situation and his ineffectiveness at being an NFL prototype QB. However, if you're the Dolphins, Chiefs, Lions, Vikings, Falcons (notice they didn't cut Vick after he pleaded guilty), etc. then you're going to appreciate his athleticism and realize that while he may not be a "great" QB, he is still better than 90% of the QBs in the league.

If I was a GM, I would want him on my team because he sales tickets and Im all about making money. I would however scour the earth to find the best QB coach in the business and employ him on my team with the hopes of making Vick a more productive QB. I would also like to point ou that while Vick may not be one of the best QBs, he has suffered from a lack of available receiving talent on the Atlanta Falcons (aside from Algae Crumpler). If he had any decent WRs on his team he would in all likelihood be a much more effective QB and probably have to scramble less. QB scramble when WRs dont get open, or O-Lines dont block.

No, but it has nothing to do with his recent legal issues. I would not want him because even though he is a spectacular athlete and can do things other people cannot he makes my job harder.

If I am one of his offensive linemen I need to hold blocks longer typically and be able to shift my block when he decides to run. If I am one of his receivers it is likely I am going to have to reach in some way to get to the ball therefore changing my route and slowing down. This would cause me to be more likely to take a big hit. Also as a wide receiver I don't know if my QB is even going to throw to me or if he will just start running. This can cause issues as well. For a running back it is difficult because of blocking and receiving just like the linemen. It is harder to be the, "2ND best running back," on my team no matter what happens.

For a defense, Vick's style does not lend itself to long sustained drives where I get to be on the sideline resting. It is more likely either the team will score quickly or go three and out.

Vick is a very talented player and will play again. I would not like to play with him more for the reasons above than anything else.

Not if I wanted to win, as a player he is electrifying to watch and has a great arm to go with great elusiveness in running but I want a QB that can deliver a good pass to his receivers, I want a guy that you can count on to be a great leader and motivate the players around him to give everything they have, I also want a guy that other players can predict what he is going to do in certain situations. In other words I would want a Manning, Palmer, Rivers, Brady type QB where you know that he is going to follow the play some what and not just run and create a game plan on the fly.

no he is the definintion of an athelte. He doesn't throw well. Isn't great at reading defenses, and is basically an option qb trying to make it in the NFL. He would probably have been a ridiculous return man or slot reciever if he would have focused on that.

plain and simple he fills seats but not trophy cases. You can win with a qb that runs more than he throws.

No. But, I wouldn't want him on my team...period. First, I would prefer to have someone who could complete passes with some consistency. I like Vick's mobility, but I'd rather have someone who can make quick decisions and get the ball downfield.

Few QB's have been winners without the ability to pass the ball and to read defenses with some accuracy. Vick has never demonstrated either skill.

the guy committed a gross crime and lied about it, but he's still got skills.

if i am playing in the NFL i want to win, so it depends on who else was available at QB and RB. IMO Vick is overrated as a QB. i don't think he'd be in my picks for the top 5 QBs in the NFL. i'd rather have brady, p. manning, palmer, mcnabb or brees (and possibly others) at QB.

I would not want him as my QB regardless of the dog fighting situation.

If the Falcons would have used Schaub as QB last year and used Vick as a kick returner and spot RB, the Falcons would have gone to the playoffs.

I think if he is allowed back in the league, he will be used in just this fashion.

Yes I would let Vick be QB he's still good at his job even though his personal life stinks.

His accuracy stinks. Other then that he has a good arm and can throw the ball pretty far. But in my opinion he is more of a running-back playing quarterback so no I wouldn't want him at QB.

Nope! and it's not about his jail time. Pocket passers seem to do better in the NFL. It takes a guy who is smart as much as a guy who is athletic to be a quarterback. However, if I want an option quarterback in college football, there probably wouldnt be anyone who could run it better.
