I have a good vaccum, not the best in the world, but decent... My dog is a German Shepard mix, and her hair is so wirey that it gets stuck deep in the carpet. Is there any kind of powder or spray that will help?

i have a flat coat retriever and he is shedding real bad right now. it will clog up my vacuum, so along with brushing him, i also vacuum him.....sounds weird i know but he loves it! also, i take a broom to my carpet before i vacuum and that seems to help some. i wish i knew more of what to tell you.

You need a better vacuum . I feel for you I had a German Shepard. Every day I had to vacuum. But brush the dog, take to a groomer to get his coat blown. Will help on the shedding. Other then that really nothing more.

PetSmart, and i'm sure other pet stores, sell a rubber-fingered broom that does an excellent job of getting the pet hairs our of the carpet. it requires sheer brute muscle. my husband, son, and i took turns at a relatives' house, cleaning the place so the carpets could be shampooed. Stanley Steemer did an excellent job of removing the rest of the hair, the stains, and just general dirt. (don't get the teflon treatment though, a friend told me that the dirt sticks extra hard after using it--just passing info on)

You need a better vacuum. Buy a wet dry shop vac. dampen the carpet with water in a spray bottle. Vacuum vigorously.
