Actually , I can't believe it . They agreed to withdraw their troops(all 200 of them) from Afghanistan in exchange for the release of the remaining 19 hostages .. Now , even democrats support the war in Afghanistan , so I'm actually expecting to see wide agreement on this . . . . . but one never knows .

I just don't get it . Do you ?

Honestly I think The ROK is showing it's true colors...I think we should pull all 34K + Troops we have in Korea out and let Korea defend it's self...I think after 57 years they should be able to do it without our help...the Dems seem to think after four Iraq should be able to defend themselves...I spent a total of 15 months in God forsaken Korea and it is about time we let the American hating Koreans stand alone...we will see how long it's takes Ol Jung to take them over...

Am I morally corrupt because I don't see any problem negotiating to remove troops, getting the hostages back, and then actually sending more troops? I mean, we are talking about terrorists who kidnap innocent, non-military people and often behead their hostages, not a sovereign nation engaged in civilized combat and negotiating to exchange prisoners. I'm not opposed to playing underhanded with underhanded idjits such as the Taliban. It will be shame if Korea actually does withdraw and put a lot of others in danger.

The hostages are alive and going home to their families. What a blessing. No I am not disappointed. I was surprised though. As far as withdrawing their troops. Good for them. Even if it is Afghanistan.

What? You act like some progress is being made in Afghanistan. As if S Koreas couple hundred make a difference. Hell we sacrifice damn near that many lives in a day. And that 19 lives aren't worth anything.

In 1871 the United States sent a Punitive Expetdition to Korea which burned several forts to the ground. The reason was that the Koreans were Crucifying Christian Missionaries.
So maybe they have a different take on it. Presently Korea has troops in six countries including East Timor.

Ok so they had 200 troops and were going to withdraw from Afghanstian soon either way.

Look they made a tough decision to save the remaining 19 hostages. So I do understand, I mean they did what they felt was correct.

The only thing SK has to bargain with is the troops they have over there. I think it's a mistake but then we don't know what pressures are being brought to bare on their leaders by the SK people.

If the terrorist are successful in getting SK to withdraw you can expect to see more troops of supporting countries kidnapped with the hopes of obtaining the same results, ending support to the US.

I don't get anything that George Bush started, South Korea has their own leaders their leaders wanted to do this and Bush does not rule the world , he just thinks he does. South Korea has had no threats from Terrorist and their people believe one way and that is there freedom.

Korea isn't called the "Hermit Kingdom" for nothing. They just want to pull back from most of the world and make their money where they can.

Right now they are trying to get chummy with North Korea so they can get their hands on nuclear weapons and protect themselves from Japan and China.

They used us to build them up and now they could care less about us.

YES very disappointed. This gives credability to the Taliban. I mean, I understand the flip side. No one wants to see anything happen to these hostages. It's just bad all around!

Same thing happened with Spain. They withdrew troops after a train bombing. These incidences should be considered victories for the terrorists.
