ok so today i tried using a tampon and i tried to relax to make it easier... it didn't reallly hurt much but after 20 minutes i started feeling REALLY DIZZY!! everything went black(well almost everything i just saw a little), my ears had this hissing(still here as i write too), i got soo pale, i felt soo weak i even fell on the ground, i had shortness of breath.. i felt like i was gonna puke..and not to mention the VERY heavy sweating, i imideatly took it out and after like 30 seconds it all went away so i went to go lie down and omg.. i now have the worst pain in my uterus!! and i have a terrible headache and hissing in my ears.... has this ever happend to anyone? what should i do? geez i got soo scarred... is it common? ahh please ease my mind

not TSS,sweetie.I had that same problem the first time I used a tampon, every single symptom you described. It scared me so badly it was a year before I tried tampons again...after that first bad experience, it was never a problem again, though, and I used them for 30+ years.
I still don't know what happened,or why...except that it's pretty wierd physiologically to be sticking(other) things in there. Maybe our bodies just freaked out, yes?

Theres a little piece of paper that always comes with your box of tampons and warns about TSS. toxic shock syndrome. It's VERY rare. but it has happened to people who either leave the tampon in too long, or dont have their period and put one in anyways. If you werent bleeding heavily, or not bleeding at all, the tampon will start to absorb your vaginal fluids and then TSS can happen. your best bet is to see your doctor this isnt normal.

Someone posted this exact same story a few days ago. Either there is an epidemic of girls so panicked about tampon use that they pass out from trying, or you're lying and posting twice.

It's also NOT TSS. That takes HOURS or DAYS to develop, not 20minutes. 'fess up or give more details.

EDIT:
Right, girl, right. Type the words tampon and dizzy into "search for questions", and hundreds of results come up, including the ones from yesterday that are almost identical to yours. I'm sorry if I doubted you, but once you see the posts, you'll understand why I did. Good luck with your bizarre tampon issues---go check with your doc if it happens again. Here's the actual one I saw yesterday:

You might have gotten TSS (toxic shock syndrome) from your tampon. TSS can be fatal. Please call you doctor right away!
Best of luck!
