I have to admit I must live a sheltered life because I was shocked hearing the details of the Craig scandal. Toe tapping signals for sleazy bathroom sex! I've never heard of such a thing. Don't people go to cheap motels anymore? Are we missing the point here. There is a bigger issue here that I think we are missing. Don't straights and children also use these bathrooms. It's really a sad statement about our society.

Rabble Rouser: I really don't have a problem that he's gay or was acting gay whatever. The fact remains this is deviant behavior. I don't want to be exposed to it and I don't want my children exposed to it. Sex should be private not public. Just because they are behind a stall door does not make it private. You should be upset by this too after all doesn't this make a statement about gay society.

Rabble Rouser: I gave you a thumbs up too but that was before you added your poor pitiful gays rant. Its disgusting.

Tophat: this is not an issue about Gay or not to be Gay. Ok I have plenty of Gay friends and have been to Gay bars with those friends. This is an issue of right and wrong. If Gays want to be more acceptable to society this IS NOT the way to do it. They are just making themselves more of a target.

If Gays want to be more acceptable to society this IS NOT the way to do it. They are just making themselves more of a target. This is about right and wrong. They just need to suck it up and go get a room. (no pun intended)

There has always been deviant behavior in people. What is the society norm has been over the years with the Democrat leader ship of do what you want and no one can say anything or be a non political correct pig in their words.

This ids just one aspect of this and others include abortion, divorce, gay marriage, and much worse involving children which I will not go into. SO with each lowering of the norm then it moves the next sick action up to fall. Unless we stop this now and here and make these actions and the people accountable.
Even if it were not a public place where children are it should not be OK in public at all. Also one more thing schools push this liberal agenda and each day they seek to take this control away from parents and with this comes this type of sick behavior.

You have led a sheltered life for sure. These things have been going on for ages. It is a shame that they have to resort to this sort of liason instead of being able to openly go to a motel or hotel and register that everyone else does. If there wasn't such a stigma put on those who are gay in our society and they were afforded those rights that heterosexuals have, then maybe this would not happen. Of course, gays are not the only ones who have committed this kind of liason, it is not beyond some in the heterosexual community to also meet in places like this for adultress affairs, etc. Would it have made it more tolerable for you if he had been heterosexual and met a female there??? Get over your bias about the gay community.....they have been a part of society since before Jesus walked the earth. This culture or lifestyle is not "new" to just the last century. When we decide to put our bias aside and let people live their lives and let GOD sort out those that are worthy and those that are not on judgement day...maybe the world might improve.

I think you are exactly correct on this issue. Children use these bathrooms. It is a very sad day in America when a United States Senator must use a men's room to find sex. In the past day, I have made my share of jokes on the subject, but, seriously folks, this man has severe mental issues OR he is a criminal predator. No one with his connections would sweep this under the rug with a guilty plea unless he was guilty. Now he's blaming the publicity of this perverted crime on the media. He should count his lucky stars Chris Hansen didn't catch him on video on Dateline NBC! The state trooper was looking for SEXUAL DEVIANTS COMMITTING A CRIME, not a US Senator.

I agree. It is disgusting. I remember when I was in college (about 20 years ago) and I was taking Psychology 101 and the subject of homosexuality came up and the Professor, being predictably liberal, stated that homosexuality was completely normal despite the fact that a few years ago it had been classified as a mental illness...but, whatever. The Professor went on to talk about how homosexuals on campus would meet in the bathroom of the graduate school library. I think the reason he brought it up was to inform those in the class who were not aware of this and were homosexuals where to go when you needed some action. I can think of no other reason to bring up the location of homosexual liaisons to a classroom full of college students. The point is, it's apparently been going on for a long time and is common for homosexual men to meet this way. Once again you are completely right. It is absolutely disgusting. Can you imagine going to a smelling disgusting public restroom in order to find someone to have sex with? How disgusting and deviant the homosexuals are in our midst. It's odd that homosexuals can't figure out why most people find them disgusting and don't want to have anything to do with them. Most are perverted sexual deviants...and mentally ill.

Public bathrooms is the last place anybody should ask for anything... Something just doesn't seem right about this. He must have made someone mad. What kinda drugs this people on? Seems like the higher up the ladder our politics go, the freakier they get. Just look at what George did in his collage days.

No you haven't been sheltered. Another "way" that gay men have a trist is in changing rooms at stores (as well as bathrooms). They use a paper bag for one of them to stand in (so the feet and legs get hidden). I have not read up on the recent news involving a senator was it? so I don't know the full details as how he "tried" to get away with it. ....I think it may be the "don't care if I get caught" attitude they have or they like to live on the edge. Yes it is pretty sad that they can't do it in more private of a setting.

I think it shows a profound lack of judgment and lack of respect for other citizens, it was a very public place. I for one do not care what people do in private or on their own time but, where other peoples rights or expectations are violated in such a objectionable manner, I and many other people may take exception.

Only Republicans do that...

I go to the bath house or local gay bar to meet men, like a normal queer should...

I really think that the people most offended by the Craig incident are the people who honestly believe that gay people are not a significant portion of society...

You have two options:
1) Give Gay people equal treatment under the law and accept that they exist.
2) Stick your head in the sand and wait for your next Republican senator to pop up in a bathroom near YOU.

They have been doing that since at least the mid 1980's.
I was afraid to use the public bathrooms at College. There were always notes on the walls about when and where and what signal to use to have sex.
