The word 'intercourse' means the whole time from the initial penetration until you finish (finish = ejaculate or simply decide to stop). It needs to be hard (erect) the whole time or it will fall out and she will be unsatisfied.
Women like intercourse too. A good lover will last much longer than a few seconds.

Your question is kinda without sense.
5 sec. are a very short time and once the penis is inside, you can also wait 5 or 10 sec. before starting the intercourse... it's possible of course.... but WHY THAT?!
Obviously, penis has to remain erect so that coitus can go on.... but until the "lust" is presents the erection will be assured!

You need to be erect all during sex not just for 5 minutes you need to be hard for longer than that if possible! You can not have sex with our and erection! If you dont have an erection there is no having sex!! Thats just life!!

Can't have sexual intercourse without an erection. You can have social intercourse without it (that's just 'coversing' for those that don't own a dictionary).
