First, settle down, LOL. College is a marvelous experience and one that you'll miss when it's over! My first semester, I had classes in Intro to Theology, English 101, Phys Ed, Greek I (foreign language), American Government, and Western History I. My first day of college was interesting, to say the least. I had four classes: 8am, 9am, 10am, 1pm. It takes getting used to especially coming from a high school setting. In college, the responsibility lies on you to go to class. So, you may have a few morning classes then a break before you have afternoon and/or evening classes. It takes a few weeks, but you'll have it down in no time. It's much better than high school because you command your own schedule. Your classes sound nice, typical first-year college classes for sure. As someone who now works in academic counseling, I can "guess-timate" that you'll have little homework in art & music, and fundamentals of speech. Survey of american government and criminal justice should have moderate assignment levels, while english 101 will have the most to work on (reading, writing). I think you will be slightly overwhelmed, but in a good way that's positively exciting. Let it sink in and try to enjoy it. It is a transition, but one that will begin the next few years of great memories and preparation for the working world. Good luck!

Fundamentals courses, survey courses, 101 courses and intro courses can have a considerable amount of homework, but generally are not scary hard. I have no idea how your first day will go. I don't even know where you're at.

Personally though, mine was fun. I couldn't believe I was actually in college. I had Calculus 1, Advanced Second Year Spanish (tested high, so I was freaked), a social science course, and a stupid religion course, for a total of 15 credits.

It can be a lot of homework, but you have so much friggin free time on your hands! No parents, other responsibilities, you have libraries where tons of kids are all doing the same thing (studying or socializing). Just work hard during the week and have as much fun as you possibly can on the weekends. This might just be the best time of your life.

A few weeks in, you'll realize that a couple hours of studying in a day is the most you'll ever do, unless an exam is the next day. Just procrastinate and pull all-nighters the way everyone else does. It's fun, and you can't do it very easily when you get older.
