High School Drama is a good idea.
Churches usually do musicals in children and youth ages...those parts are good for resume building. My daughter just directed one of those.
Community Theater is a great way to get to work with some really good directors. They have a lot of open call auditions. Keep going and practicing with other talent. You can learn a lot from that. I remember this one lady who always ordered even obscure plays to be ready for the part. She mentioned where she got them from...that was helpful.
Why pay for lessons when you can work with some of the best for free and learn along the way. If you aren't getting call backs then consider lessons.
If you re in High School, or can pass for it, consider preformances that take place during school hours if you can work it out. Most people can't and the auditions are lower.
Ignore all those radio ads that say they can get you in front of agents...they can but it will cost you tons of money and they still might not like you. One of the things they recommend is watching Who wants to be a Soap star and things like that.
Find out who you would like to be represented by and then find out what submission guidelines they have. See if you know anyone who is with that agency...don't know anyone? Go to auditions...there are lots of chatty kathys there who can fill you in on what they are doing...some of it might be good leads.

Keep doing exactly what you're doing now. Depending on what year you are in school, you might look into finding a performing arts high school in your area and finish your schooling there... You'll probably get much better training than at a regular high school.
Go to college fairs. Find out what schools have good theatre programs. Try looking at schools in Chicago, New York, Boston, or Southern California.
Find a community theatre group in your area and audition. Lots of directors go to those kinds of productions to find new talent for paying gigs.
Most importantly of all, just keep trying... You won't get what you want everytime you audition. And acting is definately the hardest career choice you can make. This is coming from someone who knows. :]

READ DIS IF U WANT 2 B AN ACTRESS OR SINGER. ITS LONG BUT USEFUL SO READ ALL OF IT PLZ!!!
Sry but the chances of you becoming an actress is very slim. There is millions of people dat want dis job 2 but its not a gud 1. i wanted 2 become 1 at 1st but my parents said no. First cuz ur education wont b gud cuz ur always acting n homeschooling wont be good cuz its not up 2 da state standered. Also its not a life time thing. You can only do dis wen ur young and look, think of at least 10 seniors that are still acting rite now. Besides, your agent can betray you. Like dats wat happened to my mom's friend. He made her do all this crazy things even marrying a 67 years old man. And finally he said "oh i quit. i dont want to be your manager anymore" And another of my mom's friend daughter was studying to become an actress all her life. after 4 long years of collage, shes now a waitress hoping dat some1 can accept her to be a actress. ALso, think about all da money they spend on make-up, clothes and all dat. Those stuff comes out of ur pay so practically, ur pay isnt dat much. And think about all dat make-up. It's just gonna ruin ur face n wen ur 30 or 40, u'll have wrinkles. Its tough out there and im not tryin to put u down but im just sayin, just focus on ur education n wen u grow up, u can do w.e u want 2 do n make lots of money 4 it 2.

Sigh. the blind continues to try to lead the blind.
When you have done a lot of acting in school and in the community and when you have taken some professinal acting classes, it is time to put together your resume and get a head shot. Then with the help of your parents you can begin to try to get an agent.
