I just started grad school and we are required to take 15 credits. I am also doing an internship (which I am a first year student and am not trained for- also required). I feel completely overwhelmed right now. Anyone have advice about grad school?
Is it just overwhelming at first? How does it compare to undergrad? How does grading compare?

What's your program?

I'm in Social Work. Took 15 credits the first semester. Had an internship (still do) doing child therapy. No previous experience.

Coursework was extremely, extremely easy. Easier than undergrad. I'm actually at the best school in the nation for graduate social work and I'm just under a 4.0. I'm no genius either. Internship was fun. Very little stress.

If your program is something else, it might be a totally different story.

Advice: Don't worry about grades. They mean very little. The thing about grad school is that you're not trying to get into grad school.

You'll be surprised to find that in almost all subjects, grad school is easier than undergrad! Except maybe some core hardcore science classes.

Other than that, if your overwhelmed, take it one day at a time. When I did my phD, it was the same way. Don't think too far ahead because your head will start to spin.

On that same note of spinning, a nice cold beer is always a relaxing and well deserved break!
