If he's young he's practicing his hunting skills. Foxes also store food under grass and twigs or bury it for later.
Don't leave your cats outside when foxes are around, they can be killed. If you want him to leave, live trap him (use a large enough box trap and bait it with Kentucky Fried Chicken) and move him at least 10 miles away, releasing near a water source and a large tree area. NOT in the middle of a place where he has no cover or water.

They sometimes kill and leave the food for later, especially is they have family and the kill is to large to drag to the den.
There also territorial. Maybe he kills things in his (sorry, or her) territory?
I quite like foxes and would have to say just give the little bugger some food- maybe a 5p tin of savers cat food, then it wont want to it your pets

A Fox will always kill when there is plenty and will store it away till it needs it.If you want to get rid if it from your garden spread a few Mothballs around this will deter it and it will move on to somewhere else.Because it's a Fox it does not mean it has to be killed.!

I found a really useful idea is to buy a few huge bottles of water and lay them around your garden, they see their reflection in it and are scared off. Sounds silly i know but it really works, my grandma lives at the back of a field and she gets them all the time.

lallmas and beef cows are very handy to have around to get rid of fox, wolves, and wild dogs. A beef cow that has a calf is probably the best chasing away predetors.

It must be a pain - i love animals but it is annoying for people when they come into your garden.
It is sad that there are animals that prey and just kill for fun rather than eat - cats do that - they are intelligent and beautiful but i hate them coming in my garden scaring my rabbit !! I must teach him kung fu to kick their furry butts hehe

Well they will stalk your pets or farm animals, then kill what they can get ahold of, they killed 2 of our ducks before my husband paid back the favor, since then no dead ducks, just a dead fox. I am an avid animal lover, but you have to protect your babies from predators.

A nuisance to you. Just an animal, with as much right to live as us.
