I live in Northern California and am not sure on where I would find such a person or service to do this, does anyone have suggestions?
Its a one time thing to clean and prep home for coming winter months, and I'm at a loss on where to look.

Over here we have "Grey Skills" which is a group of older people who offer their services. They are all self employed so they can work the hours they wish in their particular field. You get professionals, who are slowed down by age, but have the skills.
See if there is such a group in your local, or nearby.

Merry Maids or The Maids are good companies, I'm sure one of them is out your way.Just call them up and say what you need and they will tell you the cost.
Check the classifieds under "seeking employment" and call one of the people looking for housekeeping jobs.. Most will do a one-time job.

Maid Brigade maybe in your area, Or any maid service. Not sure what you need done. They don't do laundry or dishes. They generally just clean surfaces.

Ask at your church, try the neighbors, friends, co workers. I'll bet somebody will have a name for you.
P.S. Pay them well for a one shot job, then when you need them again, they will come back.
