You can't get it for free, unfortunately. But you can minimize your costs.

If you use the same lawyer it can be cheaper and less time consuming. You can only do this if you both divide things yourself and agree on everything. If either party objects to anything, it won't work and you'll have to each get your own lawyer and go through the whole ordeal. BUT when it comes to this, unfortunately, the lawyers are often the only ones who "win"

There is always some cost associated with getting a divorce. Even if you don't have a lawyer there are fees when you file the paperwork, etc.

If you meet a certain income requirement you may qualify for free or reduced legal services. I'd do a search and see if you can find any legal clinics in your area and give them a call to see if they take divorce cases and what their requirements are.

Otherwise, you might just need to figure out a way to shell out the money to get it done on your own.

Free divorce?? your kidding right?? Amazing..

you need to petition for dissolution of marriage, you will also have to describe sufficient legal basis for the devorce as recognized by the laws of the State of Missouri (Irretrievable breakdown of the marriage, and no reasonable likelihood exists that the marriage can be preserved)

Also a Marital settlement agreement...you must also have no kids.

good luck...by the way nothing is free...in the end you will have to pay for the papers to be filed and notarized...

good luck

There is no such thing as a free divorce. You can file on line for free like I did, but you'll have to pay a filing fee with the district court in your area. Sorry you're having problems, I know what it's like. You have my sympathy.

You can get the papers and file them yourself, but there is a fee to file. There are no free divorces! If you can't get them at the court house, call We the People, they are on Brentwood Blvd. a little over a mile from the Galleria, south. You can buy the papers there.

I don't know about free, but I know that you can get one without a lawyer through the courts by going downtown and picking up the packet. It is 99.00 and you will be responsible for filing the paperwork and everything. It took me about 6months. Good Luck to you!

like she said...divorce is never free.
however the most inexpensive alternative is buying an anullment kit, sometimes they sell them at borders book store or you can purchase them online.
you don't need to go through any court system and its very inexpensive.
it all depends on if anything is in question in your divorce as well, if you are arguing over a house or any large assets you may need a lawyer.

Divorce isn't free anywhere. You have to hire an attorney, pay court fees, and for all of the paperwork. It is usually pretty expensive.
