I believe sir, that you are daft! You don't row a canoe and a I would prefer a kayak (version of a canoe) made for open seas where the waves are going to swamp your canoe before you get very far. From Glasgow Take the train to Liverpool. From the Liverpool docks go south past Ireland and then west. Since the coast of the Americas stretches from pole to pole you cannot miss.

You may want to rethink your terminology. Rowing a canoe would be difficult. You can paddle a canoe, or row a boat.
You should take condoms and plenty of lighter fluid. A jar of apple sauce. Also ping pong balls. You can never have too many ping pong balls.
