A new U2 album isn't likely until next year. They've done a fair amount of work in the studio, but nothing too formal just yet. My guess is they'll get serious after the new year.

As for songs and other details, you should just read and bookmark this page on @U2:

I wouldn't count on it soon. Bono is busy with a lot of other projects right now, as are the other members.
