considering where you asked the question, I have to wonder if you are using a blank for an obscene word. If you want the original word, "flock", then applied to people, it means that people with similar interests like to get together to discuss them rather than bugging strangers.
If you actually meant it to be about birds, then birds flock because they can travel with less air resistance (and energy) and a flock that loses a few members to predators survives better than individuals out on their own.

It just means people who are a lot alike tend to gather together and become friends. This can be used to mean that people are alike in both good ways and bad ways. This proverb is often shortened. Many people just say "Birds of a feather..." This proverb expresses the idea opposite of the idea of "Opposites attract." Example: Max and Sam are sitting in the cafeteria at their school. They see a group of people that they do not like very much. All of the people in this group are a little mean. They are often rude to the other students at the school. Sam points to the group and then turns to Max. "Every one of those people is a little mean. How did they all get to be friends with one another?" she asks. "Well, birds of a feather flock together. Maybe that is the reason they are all friends. They all act the same way," Max answers. "Maybe," says Sam, "but I don't like any of them very much."

I don't understand why your Grannie or you, would find something wrong with people who have similar interests spending time together. Flocking together in this manner is perfectly natural. If it wasn't for flocking we would have all kinds of disorder in the world. Why we might have Democrats marrying Republicans, the rich associating with the poor and Intellectuals finding camaraderie with Morons
So you see Flocking keeps us all where we fit in society.:)

Why'd you leave it blank? That word is flock not a four letter F word. But yes it's true. Even when you feel you stand out from your friends, there is something that links you and makes you very similar. Me and my boy dated these 2 girls, wow, they both were lacking in the common sense department. We had to explain every thing to them. And we both thought the other guys girl was smarter until we started sharing notes. then low and behold, they were both air heads. You find a meat head guy, and chances are his buddies are meat heads too. The same goes for easy girls, genius types, out doorsy types, etc.

True....think of all us seniors here on this site and how we've flocked together because of all of the things we share in common. Many of the same interests, life experiences, etc.

flock together.
yes, it is true for species of birds and for humans as well.
Birds flock together for safety during migration, humans seek out like minded folks for safety and acceptance.

If you really meant birds, it would be.
As for humans, I think once we get past our teens, we also get past the need to be with people exactly like us.
We grow by interacting with people of differing tastes, political and religious beliefs and different stations in life.

Flock and humans do as well. There is comfort in being with those that are like-minded.

Flock. I think it is. and for that same reason. If you don't believe it, look at you and your group of friends and see if it is true.
