I do !!!

I love the GSXR1000 and it is a death trap to the new rider.
it is a formula1 car for only 12k new!!

The bike takes throttle control, brains, and experience. If you are lacking in any of these it will let you know it.

I have raced and still take it to the track. it is IMO the best of the Liter bikes. Most people have no idea how fast they really are.

I went on a ride with some harleys a while back and this guy tricked out his harley with the workes. new heads, pistons bored, cams etc. He wanted to race, so I did. I stayed with him to about 110 then decided to open her up to 175. He actually thought he had a shot at beating me.

He could not believe how fast I pulled away from him at 110mph. It was fun.

Well that's a difference between 50-60hp (your 250) and about 160hp (the Gixxer 1000) And there's about 60-70ft/lbs difference in torque too, the Gixxer is making like 80-90 ft/lbs. And NOONE needs that much power, it's just something someone would want.

Suzuki tried to remedy this with the new GSX-1000R with adjustable engine mapping, but since the system restarts everytime you turn the bike off, so it's pointless as a 'tier' system. Not that it's marketed as such, it's supposed to be for different tracks ('A' and 'B' setting) and 'Wet' conditions (the 'C' setting).

But if you were to ask Ben Spies, it's just the right amount of power to win races...

Dude, you SAT on it.

Pulling the throttle while the engine is not under any kind of load (because it is in neutral) is why it seemed "powerful" to you - but that was just how fast the motor will spin up to its redline...you didnt even begin to taste the power of that bike.

Ive got a 1000cc Kawasaki. I love having that power.

nobody "needs" that kind of power. It's a want, but you also have to realize how dangerous that can be, so you have got to be very responsible to have it. It also doesn't hurt to know how to ride and control the power
