I have spent 30 years going to Vegas and sometimes many times a month. I only live 8 hrs away. Anything you need to know I probably know.

Harrahs is good but there are better places too what you can try for a better price:
Excalabur
Sahara
Circus Circus (tower is best)
Hilton (great pool, nice rooms)

Cheap flights can be found here:

www.cheapticket.com
www.travelworm.com (from Vegas)
www.hotwire.com
www.lastminute.com
www.orbitz.com (specials right now to Vegas)

June is a great time as long as you stay away from the Convention dates. There are several huge conventions in May and June and they cause huge crowds everywhere (for food, gambling, tours). June is hot but not the hottest like July and Aug. June can get 95 degrees but dry heat. Bring a hat, sunscreen, and cool cotton clothes (no polyester). Keep bottles of water in your room and drink twice the fluid you normally do. It will be kind of hot to walk the strip but you can take the tram or shuttles. Taxis can get expensive.

If you have never been to Vegas before make sure you go downtown and see the Light Show on main street. And they have some unique venders lining the plaza. You can buy unigue stuff and cheap Vegas T-shirts. I got a lovely four-leaf clover necklace that I could not find anywhere else.

Also you can take tours in the area like Hoover Dam or the Grand Canyon by plane or helacopter. Buy these tours after you arrive as you can get discount tickets in the Casinos and Hotels. You may even want to go to the local Chamber of Commerce as there are tons of coupons for discounts to shows, tours, food and more.

Have Fun.

Go to Expedia.com. Not only can you book the hotel and flight, but you can read reviews on the hotels too. That's the best site to do all that stuff in my opinion.

I'd re-consider Harrahs though. It's quite a dump. You can stay at better hotels for similar money.

Update: I forgot to answer your question about the weather. It is going to be as hot as hell! Expect it to be over 85 even at night, and probably over 100 for most of the day. It's a dry heat, but it's still crazy hot. I went last August and it was over 115 some days.

I would not book a trip to Vegas on a third party site. I would suggest surfing the internet for deals and then calling the hotel or booking on their site. They will always match rates you find elsewhere. The reason you should do this is simple. Rates in Vegas tend to fluctuate with demand. Depending on how many rooms are sold, rates can go up or down as you get closer to your stay. If you book with the hotel, you will be able to call them up directly and have them change your rate in the event they go down. It is also easy to cancel or change dates if your plans change. With Expedia, Orbitz, or any of the other sites, this is increasingly difficult and often involves a fee.

I live here. June is hot!! 102 to 111. This 4Th of July was 116. Bring walking shoes. The casinos are chilly inside, so I carry a sweater for inside them.
