It was in the Pennsylvanian section of the trail, I can't remember the colors, and it was about the size of a pinky finger nail. The thing that interested me was its reaction speed. I went to flick it of my arm only to find it sitting on my finger. I did it again harder with the same results. I did it several more times simply because I was fascinated by how quickly the bug could react. I finally got it off by letting it crawl onto a leaf along side the trail.
I tried to find an answer myself, but most sites don't list bugs by their reaction speeds. If anyone can help salve my curiosity, I would greatly appreciate it.

Yea, Jumping Spiders are fast, Its fun to watch them literally jump up a wall. I can see them being confused for a typical bug because they have short stocky legs, and their head is about twice as big as their abdomen.

It sounds like a spider, that catches flies by a long dive at them, that has happened to me, where you try to flick it and it's back on you. It is a spider, but do not know the name of it.
