I recently started taking prenatal vitamins, and they seem to provide all the vitamins I need. However, I also eat Total, which adds another 100% of most of the same vitamins. Is it safe to be doubling up on the vitamins or should I start buying a different cereal?
Thanks in advance for any helpful info!

you absolutely can get too many vitamins but the cereal plus one vitamin should be okay. usually too many vitamins comes from taking a lot of a vitamin. ask your doctor but you should be fine eating a bowl of total a day. if you're not sure just switch to special k or something until your doctor says it's okay.
here's an article about vitamin toxicity and the ammounts, maybe that'll help

too much vitamin a can be bad, BUT if it's in the form of beta carotene it's safe, only synthetic forms of vitamin a will be bad in high doses.

(i asked a question about vitamin A previously & got some great answers!)

I believe too much vitamin A can cause you to have liver damage. Talk it over with your doctor to check on the other ones. Good luck!

being pregnant is a very delicate period in the life of the
mother and the unborn child. You just cannot take any
vitamins without consulting your doctor. before continuing
with your unadvised intake of prenatal vitamins or buying
additional drugs andsupplements it is better to see and
seek the advice ofyour doctor who is responsible for
monitoring the development ofyour unborn child and at
the same your progress.
