Amen, brother!
I wish cashiers would show a little moxie and boom out, "Hold it! Just what do you think you're doing!?" And then force them to take their items to another checkout stand.

oh there are a lot of reasons a dill hole with 400 items goes through the express lane.
1.) They DON'T care
2.) They can't count or read??
3.) they are lazy *******

You know I have often wondered that myself, trying working at a supermarket and working the 20 items or less lane and have someone pull up to you with a cart full. It's irritating for the consumer and the cashier. I love it when they have fruit and vegetables and they are not experienced with them and have to gawk at the screen for five minutes before they figure out what it's wanting them to do. These people set a bad example for those who have twenty items then because everyone looks at you like you have more items than allowed and they rant and rave about it, it's like you come and count the items in my cart. They say it's so they don't have to wait in a long line, but don't they realize they are making us wait.

I hate those people. And I'm not shy about letting them know how I feel either. You should do the same. Next time, just tell them that this is the express lane and they need to go to the regular checkout. If they fuss, tell them they are an idiot and they should move. If they still give you problems, talk to the store manager.

because most cashiers still serve them. places need to start insisting that cashiers tell those people to go to another line or they never will.
It bothers me more when the cashier rings in 67 items because they know full well of the rules. I had one woman make the person wait until she'd served everyone else in the line before she would ring the person in. They'll know better next time.

Because they are 1.) Inconsiderate 2.) Illiterate 3.) Know that nobody who makes only minimum wage will take the chance of getting into an altercation over telling someone that they have to move on to another line because they have way too much **** in their cart.

I used to work in a grocery store as a cashier. One lady had a whole shopping cart filled with food and wanted to come on to my line. I was on 10 items or less. She started screaming and cursing me out only embarrassing herself. There were two other lines she could have went on but decided on mine. There were tons of people waiting behind her with only a few items. It made me so mad!

Because they actually think they have 15 items. To them, Milk, Soda, Orange Juice, and 5 gallons of water are one item because they are all liquids. Steak, Ground Beef, Chicken, and Ham are one item because they are all meats. Carrots, Gatorade, Oranges, and Cheese Whiz are one item because they are all orange.
