I would give you many stars, if I could. As it is, I only have to give, and I do!
Wow, that's a hard decision, but I think it might be Mr. Rochester from Jane Eyre, or Sydney Carton from A Tale of Two Cities--both wonderful, wonderful characters. I would love to just walk up and hug them both. And a long conversation with either of them would be delightful.

Gabriel Allon from Daniel Silva's series or Harry Bosch from the Michael Connelly books or Cotton Malone from the Steve Berry books or maybe Sam Spade. I love alpha male detectives and political assassins. Pax- C

Alastor 'Mad Eye' Moody (from Harry Potter).
He has a lot of scars, a magical eye (where the normal one was lost) and a wooden leg.
He's responsible for filling half the cells in Azkaban (wizard prison).
He is really paranoid (has dustbins magically rigged to alert him of an intruder and scare the person off) but he doesn't let his paranoia confine him to the house or something - he goes out there and fights for things.
All he must have seen and done in his life, he must be really interesting to chat to.
I adore him :D

Mr Rochester from Jane Eyre. He loves a good laugh in the book and i think he would be really handsome and fun to hang out with. Plus he would have that sort of Gentleman's Charm thing going on!! : Good question.
