the whole thing works like this:

when you have lots of acting experience and a resume and a headshot and your parents' support, you send copies of your headshot, resume and a letter from a parent requesting representation for you to agents. If your resume and or headshot catches their eye, they will call you.

That's about it. There are other marketing ploys you can use to try to get an agent. For details see Acting as a Business by Brian O'Neil.

Study, take lessons, be a better actor and/or singer and the agents will find you

You will need your parents consent. There are many agencies. You can check phone books or online for the ones in your area.

you probably have some type of local agent..but beware, research, and find out if they are reputable..people they may represent..and get references. But like he said, you need to study, and hone your skills, and if you are good, they will come to you.And if you are good you shouldn't have to pay them...they get a percentage of your salary...beware...
