Barn painting. Melanie can paint the barn by herself in x days. Her helper Melissa can paint the same barn by herself in 2x days. Write a rational expression for the fraction of the barn that they complete in one day by working together. Evaluate the expression for x = 5.

They can complete the job working together in 2x^2/3x =2x/3 days. In 1 day they would complete 2/3 of the job. In 5 days, they would complete 10/3 of the job meaning that they would hav painted the barn 3 1/3 times.
